One year on from his first-team debut with Wolves, Mateus Mane is looking to continue helping the team during the five remaining matches this term.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a fine breakthrough season, having first appeared against Brighton & Hove Albion last May, and has been a key cog for much of the second half of the campaign.
Mane has been used across the line behind the striker this term and has coped with the physical demands of the top flight, and is now looking to finish the campaign strongly under Rob Edwards.
On enjoying his football
“I'm still very young, so I have a long, long time ahead of me. Every game, every training session, I do my best. I know we're not in a very good situation, but I know I'm going there to play, to try and do my best. I’m trying to do my best to help the team.”

On a year since his debut
“It was a great joy for me and my family when Vitor brought me here to train with the first-team, to be on the bench. My first time on the bench I was very happy, but I wanted to get on, and I couldn't. Then it came [against Brighton] and Vitor trusted me a lot.
“This season Vitor put a lot of faith in me, because he got me playing, and now Rob has come in to play me in the best league in the world. I'm very happy to be playing here, and my family and my teammates are very happy.”
On coping with the Premier League
“I think it's a natural thing because I was always a kid, when I was in Portugal, who had an older brother. I played with older people, so they always had fights when I was a kid.
“So, I don't think I'm afraid of anyone, because everyone is going to be older than me, but if I trust in myself, I know my quality. I think everything will be fine, I'll get through, I'll score goals and help the team.”

On playing multiple positions
“I like it better on the left, to come inside. I like it in the middle, because staying between the lines, picking up the ball and turning and attacking the defence, I can cause problems. When I grew up, I changed positions a lot.
“I really being one versus one, but also I like defending, I want to help the team at the back. I also want to make the fans smile when they get up from their seats. When I see the joy of the happy fans going home, I am happy too. I'm very happy when I do something good and they’re chanting my name.”
