Raul Jimenez continues to light up the 2026 World Cup after the Wolves striker scored the crucial goal to secure Mexico's place in the last 16.
The striker was again the hero for his country after being clinical from the edge of the box just after the half hour mark to fire the co-hosts to a two-goal lead against Ecuador in Mexico City in stunning fashion, setting up a last 16 tie with England or DR Congo.
Jimenez is one of two Old Gold stars to have booked their place in the next stage of the knockout stages on Tuesday evening, after David Moller Wolfe helped Norway to victory over Ivory Coast. Next up for the defender is a tricky clash with Brazil this weekend.
Although Ladislav Krejci, Hee Chan Hwang, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Santi Bueno are heading home following the group stages, Sasa Kalajdzic and Jose Sa will hope to join Jimenez and Wolfe in the last 16 when Austria faces Spain and Portugal take on Croatia on Thursday evening.
