Pablo Sarabia feels Wolves are in a good place following their pre-season tour of the USA and will be ready to take on the Premier League when the competition starts in less than two weeks’ time.
The Spaniard scored twice during Saturday evening’s dominant 3-0 win over Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig at the home of Inter Miami, which has been the team’s home for the last fortnight.
But more than his goals, Sarabia believes the quality performances from the whole squad across their games in the US will have given Gary O’Neil plenty of questions to answer ahead of the opening game of the season against Arsenal.
On victory over Leipzig
“It was a very good performance from everyone. We have a lot of options this year, we have our ideas, in the press and with the ball, and we are working very well.
“We’ve finished here in the States with a victory, that’s very important for us to take a very good energy and a very good performance, and we are very happy with that.”
On scoring a brace in Miami
“I am very happy for that, and very happy that I was able to help the team. We are ready for this season and I’m very excited for the new season because I believe a lot in this team.
“We really want to play at home in front of our own supporters and show with this team what we can do this year. I’m happy with the goals, but I’m happier with the result and the performance.”
On a strong squad in pre-season
“It was very good to have the whole squad performing, not just 11 players, because the season is very long and because of this we need a lot of players, a lot of players with quality, a good quality, with everything, and it’s good for the coach to have these options for the season.”

On the bond between the players
“I think it’s so important. It’s important to play with the ball and without the ball as well, because in the game we play a lot of mini games, and because of this we have to be ready for every situation.
“We did a very good performance with the press, and this is very important for the coach and for us as well, after with the ball, we have to improve, but I think we have some very good things we can take from the game.”
On pre-season preparations in the USA
“During the last two weeks we’ve been working very well and we’ve been following this way, but I think it’s been the correct way to take a very good performance from us.
“We take a lot of energy from this moment, and I think it’s the best time to take a very good performance, we’re arriving into the season strong, and in two weeks we will be ready for the first game with Arsenal.”
