Football development reach hits Canada

Wolves have further expanded their football development reach by partnering with Battle River Soccer Association in Alberta, Canada.

The partnership will enhance the Wolves brand in North America and see staff share the club’s philosophy and curriculum on recreational, development and elite level football.

Wolves coaches will travel to Alberta each year to deliver talent ID camps, recreational camps and elite sessions, while also provide coaching education sessions.

Coming the opposite way, selected groups from Battle River Soccer Association will visit the UK to experience Wolves’ Premier League level training ground.

Jordan Jeffery, vice president at Battle River Soccer Association, said: “We are delighted to partner with Wolves on an agreement that will continue to revitalise soccer in our region along with providing opportunities for both our players and coaches that are unheard of.

“The opportunities for player and coach development are something we consider a once in a lifetime opportunity. We would like to thank Joe and the Department at Wolves for collaboration to get this over the line. We look forward to being part of the Wolfpack going forward.”

Joe Hunt, head of global football development at Wolves, said: “We're delighted to be partnering with Battle River Soccer Association.

“We've been talking to Jordan for a few years now and was due to complete the partnership in 2024 but unfortunately there was an outbreak of wildfires in Canada which stopped our proposed delivery. However, we regrouped and delivered a camp this summer and now we've got to partnership stage with the guys.

“As well as continued delivery in Alberta we'll be conducting online coach education with coaches of all levels and then inviting groups over to the UK to experience coaching from our staff at the Wolves training ground.

“Working with Rob Russell (president) and Jordan (VP) has been a pleasure, and we're excited to deliver in Canada again. Welcome to the pack.”
