Ki-Jana Hoever

Ki-Jana Hoever has continued his development away from Molineux since 2022, having initially signed from Liverpool two years previously.

Coming into the club to provide competition for Nelson Semedo at right-back, Hoever continued on from a promising senior campaign at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp.

Having learnt his trade in his home nation with Ajax, Hoever moved to Merseyside in 2018 and made two first-team appearances in red, being handed his debut as a 16-year-old at Molineux, in Wolves’ Emirates FA Cup victory over the Merseyside club back in January 2019.

A full debut followed later that year, as Hoever marked his first start with a goal as Liverpool beat MK Dons 2-0 in the Carabao Cup – that towering header at Stadium MK made the Dutchman Liverpool’s fourth youngster ever goal scorer.

Following his move to Molineux, the full-back chalked up 25 appearances across all competitions, before heading out on his first loan spell during the 2022/23 season.

After a return to his homeland with PSV, Hoever joined Stoke City and enjoyed an 18-month stint at the bet365 Stadium, where he was a regular in the Potters' defence, playing 44 times in all competitions, while notching four goals in red and white.

The defender was part of Gary O’Neil’s squad during the 2024 summer trips to Marbella and the USA, but with a depth of talent in his position, Hoever headed out on loan to Auxerre in the August.

Ki-Jana Hoever represented the Netherlands across the age groups from under-15s to under-21s during his promising youth career.

After playing for both the under-15s and under-16s in 2017, his most successful stint in the orange shirt came with the under-17s the following year, where he scored three times in his first five games for the side.

In 2019, he was part of the Netherlands team which claimed the U17 Euros in Ireland, which saw him assist a goal, and hit the post with a free-kick, in his side’s 4-2 win over Italy in the final.
