Fabio Silva
Fabio Silva joined Wolves from Porto in summer 2020, having been the Portuguese club’s youngest ever player and goal scorer.
Silva has represented his country at junior level from under-15s to under-21s, having come through the system at both Benfica and Porto, where his form in the under-19s – in which he scored 20 goals in 26 matches – saw the striker make his senior debut in the Primeira Liga in August 2019.
That appearance, aged just 17 years and 22 days, made Silva the youngest league player in the history of the club. A month later, he overtook Ruben Neves to become Porto’s youngest player in European competition when he featured for Porto in the UEFA Europa League. He also took two more records from Neves when he became Porto’s youngest ever goal scorer the club’s youngest player to ever score in the league.
During his maiden season at Molineux, Silva scored home and away against rivals West Bromwich Albion, after opening his account in English football at Burnley in December 2020.
After making 73 appearances for the Wolves senior side, Silva furthered his development with loan spells away from the Old Gold, turning out in Belgium with Anderlecht, in the Netherlands with PSV – where he helped the team to KNVB Cup success – and with Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
For the 2024/25 season, Silva went on a fourth loan spell, joining La Liga side UD Las Palmas for a first taste of Spanish football.
Fabio Silva has represented his country at junior level from under-15s to under-21s, having first made his debut for Portugal in 2017.
Shining on the international stage, Silva has extensive experience through the Portuguese age groups, being part of the under-17 side which reached the quarter-finals of the 2019 U17 Euros.
That same year, he scored his first international hat-trick for Portugal’s under-19s in a 4-1 win over Italy. The striker has gone on to find the net almost 30 times across the age groups, in 55 outings.
