Rayan Ait-Nouri
Rayan Ait-Nouri is now in his fifth campaign with Wolves and enjoyed his best one yet under Gary O’Neil across 2023/24.
Initially signed on loan from Angers in Ligue 1 back in 2020, the Algerian international scored on his debut against Crystal Palace and impressed enough that campaign to have his deal made permanent.
The youngster played 27 times in each of his first two permanent campaigns at the club, scoring a late minute winner at Everton in Julen Lopetegui’s first Premier League match in charge, which provided the highlight.
It was the arrival of O’Neil which excelled Ait-Nouri’s career however, as he became an ever-present at left-wing-back, playing 38 times across all competitions and scoring important goals against Fulham and Burnley in the Premier League.
During the February of that campaign the Algerian hit his century of Wolves appearances, in a 4-2 win at Chelsea, during which game his deflected shot gave the Old Gold the advantage for the first time at Stamford Bridge.
He’s contracted until June 2026, with the club holding a further one-year option.
Prior to Wolves, the full-back had Angers in 2016, progressing from the youth set-up into the first-team squad during his first two years at the club, and represented France at three different age groups, before choosing Algeria at senior level.

Rayan Ait-Nouri chose Algeria to represent at a senior level, despite playing for France in three different age groups.
Holding both nationalities, the defender confirmed his Algerian selection in January 2023 and made his debut in an Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Niger, which his nation won 2-1.
At the major tournament in January 2024, Ait-Nouri played all three matches against Angola, Burkina Faso and Mauritania, but Algeria were eliminated at the group stage.
