Pedro Lima had an 18th birthday to remember as on 1st July 2024, he made the move from Brazil to sign for Wolves.

Coming from the same city as Wolves teammate Matheus Cunha, the full-back was on initially on the books of local side Esporte Clube Meninos da Paraiba, where he played futsal, before making the switch to join Sport Club do Recife’s academy when he was 15.

The youngster progressed through the under-17s and under-20s in Recife with his performances earning him an international call-up for Brazil’s under-17s, and in October 2023, the right-back was selected by his country to play in the FIFA U17 World Cup.

On his return from the World Cup, Lima was promoted to the Recife first-team ahead of the 2024 season, with his senior debut arriving in January as he started a 2-0 home win before scoring his first professional goal three days later.

Lima flourished in the senior environment with Recife, as he netted his second goal in February on the way to helping the club to the semi-finals of the Copa do Nordeste, while he also played a key role in the club’s Campeonato Pernambucano success, claiming an assist in the final’s first leg as Recife lifted the trophy.

Following eight appearances in the Brazilian Serie B, Lima made the move to Molineux for a first experience of European and English football with Wolves.

Pedro Lima’s international career has seen him turn out just five time for Brazil’s under-17 side, with all of those appearances coming in the FIFA U17 World Cup in November 2023.

Having been one of the only players from the northeast of Brazil to be called up to the squad, the defender featured at right-back in all his country’s matches in the competition, which included a 2-1 win over England in the group stage.

Lima also provided an assist in the last 16 victory against Ecuador before featuring in the quarter-final defeat to Argentina.
