Hugo Bueno
Spanish full-back Hugo Bueno joined Wolves as a scholar from Areosa back in the summer of 2019 where he was converted from an attacking midfielder into a left wing-back during his first year in gold and black.
Bueno quickly made an impression for the academy as he starred for Steve Davis’ under-18 side in his early months at the club, before being promoted into the under-21s before the 2019/20 season came to a close, appearing four times in Division 1.
Bueno became a key part of James Collins’ development side the following season as the team narrowly missed out on promotion via the play-offs, but his most fruitful time came in the closing stages of the 2021/22 season, as the Spaniard found the back of the net five times in as many outings to help the side to promotion.
Earlier that season, Bueno had begun training with the Wolves first-team and appeared on the Premier League bench on numerous occasions, while appearing in many of the first-team pre-season friendlies.
During the 2022/23 season, Bueno was promoted to the first-team, and made his full senior debut away at Crystal Palace in October, setting up Adama Traore’s goal just after the half hour mark.
The left-back went on to be a regular for the remainder of the season, racking up 21 appearances in the top flight, before adding another 22 Premier League outings the following campaign.
Having scored his first senior goal in the FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Coventry City a few months earlier, Bueno joined Feyenoord on loan for the duration of the 2024/25 season.
