Biography

Boubacar Traore

Boubacar Traore has spent the past two seasons at Molineux, the first on loan and second as a permanent player.

Having stepped into the professional game with Metz in Ligue 1, making his debut in May 2021, before stepping up his minutes significantly across the 2022/23 campaign.

Impressing during his 33 appearances for Metz, Traore secured a loan more to Molineux in September 2022 and made his debut later than month against Manchester City.

A first goal for the club followed for the energetic midfielder, who hit the winner against Leeds United in the Carabao Cup and soon after a clause was triggered in his loan to make the more permanent midway through his first campaign.

Having been handed his senior Mali debut while a Wolves player, Traore played a further 25 times during the 2023/24 campaign, which saw Gary O’Neil arrive at the club.

Boubacar Traore followed caps for Mali under-20s and 23s by earning a first senior appearance in November 2022 against Algeria.

In January 2024 Traore was called up his country for the Africa Cup of Nations but failed to make an appearance.

The following summer he represented Mali at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris but having picked up just one point from three matches, they exited at the group stage.
