Women's Preview | West Bromwich Albion

Wolves Women make their Molineux return – just over a year to the day since their last outing in WV1 – as they take on Black Country rivals West Brom in front of a crowd of over 2,000 on Sunday afternoon.

With just four games to go in the FA WNL, Wolves head into the clash looking to keep the pressure on league leaders Burnley as the promotion race to WSL 2 continues to intrigue in both the Northern and Southern divisions, and Dan McNamara’s side will need every single bit of support as they look to reach the second tier of women’s football.

Setting the Scene

Heading into the fourth Black Country Derby of the season, Wolves lead 2-1 against the Baggies after victories in the league (3-0) and Challenge Cup (2-0) earlier this season, though West Brom did record a 1-0 win in the FA WNL Cup quarter-final in January. Wolves come into the game off the back of a 5-0 win over Loughborough Lightning on their last outing – a victory that secured at least a play-off place come the end of the season.

West Brom have been in fine form in the league having won their last three against Halifax, Hull City and Sporting Khalsa – the latter a 6-0 win at the Hawthorns last Sunday as they edged closer to locking in a top half finish in the FA WNL.
