Women's Preview | Burnley

Wolves Women return to action on Sunday afternoon when they make the trip to Turf Moor to face league leaders Burnley in a match which could have huge implications in the FA WNL Northern Premier title race.

With both sides undefeated in the league and just six games left for the Old Gold this season, Dan McNamara’s side sit one point behind the fully-professional outfit and crucially have one game in hand over the leaders.

The stats for both teams are remarkable with neither having conceded a league goal since December 7th, both having scored over 100 goals in all competitions this season and neither having been defeated in the FA WNL all campaign.

Burnley are the only side Wolves have dropped points to this season, holding the Clarets to a goalless draw at the SEAH Stadium in August. Halifax are the only other side to have taken points from either side in 2025/26, sharing a goalless draw with Burnley in October.

Setting the Scene

Wolves have scored 17 goals in four league games without reply after Louanne Worsey’s hat-trick helped the Old Gold to a 6-0 win over Derby County last Sunday.

Burnley were also big winners, running out 5-0 winners over third placed Rugby Borough to add to their impressive victories this season.
