Charlotte Greengrass was delighted with her brace and the team’s success that gave Wolves Women victory against Rugby Borough.
Dan McNamara’s side secured another three points after Greengrass’ two tremendous goals and a strong team performance at the SEAH Stadium on Sunday.
On the performance
“We said before the game that we really need to battle against a side like Rugby and put in a good performance like we have already across the season, and that’s exactly what we did.
“We were saying at half-time that we were winning all our duals across the pitch, and I think it was a real Wolves performance as we didn’t stop battling, and I think we got exactly what we deserved.”
On finding the back of the net twice
“I was really pleased. I think I’ve been a bit unlucky with getting my chances finished over the past couple of weeks, so it felt amazing, and to get the goals to win us the game is just a great feeling, but I’m so happy.”

On playing alongside Amber Hughes
“I love playing with Amber, and I think we’re building a really good connection on the pitch and finding each other in those areas for both assists and goals was great.
“I’m really enjoying it and look forward to building on it for the rest of the season.”
On keeping a clean sheet
“It was definitely just as important to keep a clean sheet and AJ (Abbi Jenner) got player of the match and rightly so as she battled well, and the whole back line were absolutely brilliant today too.
“Tammi (George) and Becks (Becky Anderson) battled in midfield. I think it was a really hearty performance and we deserved nothing but the three points.”
On her first Black Country derby
“I’m really looking forward to it, the girls have spoken about the derby and how much it means to them, obviously I’ve not played in one like this before, but I’m really excited for it.
“With it also being at the Hawthorns, it will be a brilliant day and building off this performance as well, I’m really looking forward to it.”
On the difference between a normal game and derby day
“I think there’s going to be a lot of passion in it, we’re quite a passionate team anyway so I don’t think it will be too different from any other game.
“Today was a lively game and we had to really battle, and I don’t think that will change as that is our style of play anyway.
“I think the element of it being a derby will be present but ultimately, we’re just going to play our game and see what we can do.”
On what the team need to do against Albion
“We just need to win our battles and control the game at certain moments and not get too hot headed with the ball at our feet.
“I think we just need to take that calmness but also that aggression to Albion, so we still fight across the pitch.”
