Alfie Pond has joined League Two side Chesterfield on a permanent deal, ending a four-year spell with Wolves.
Moving to the West Midlands from Exeter City in September 2022, the centre-back would go on to impose himself within the club, becoming under-21 captain and making five first-team appearances.
While playing 67 times for the under-21s, and bagging five goals, the defender made his senior debut against Blackpool in the Carabao Cup in 2023.
A Premier League bow arrived against Fulham the following year, whilst the 22-year-old also spent time out on loan in the EFL with Stockport County, and more recently Crewe Alexandra during the second half of last season.
Academy director Jon Hunter-Barrett said: “Alfie made a real impact throughout his time at the academy. He has consistently demonstrated the character, determination and ability needed to maximise his potential.
“He has been a fantastic example to others of what can be achieved through hard work and resilience. Everyone at Wolves Academy wishes Alfie every success in the future and we look forward to following the next chapter of his journey.”
