Wolves 2 (Gonzalez 33 & Angel 36) PSV Eindhoven 0
Wolves U21s secured their first Premier League International Cup victory, defeating PSV Eindhoven U21s 2-0 at Aggborough on Tuesday evening.
Goals from Enso Gonzalez and Dani Angel were enough for the Old Gold, who made it four wins from their last five matches.
The visitors started on the front foot as Myron Boadu tested Lewys Benjamin from close range, but the Old Gold held firm and began to fashion chances of their own.
In the 18th minute, Alfie Pond fired just over Tyn Smolenaars’ crossbar with a powerful header from a Tom Edozie cross.
Pond was involved again in Wolves’ opening goal, marauding forward from centre half before setting Ethan Sutherland free down the left-hand side.
The forward then found Gonzalez with a looping cross, before the Paraguayan delicately dinked the ball over Smolenaars, leaving himself with an open goal to give the hosts the lead.
Just moments later, Wolves doubled their advantage in the 36th minute. Tom Edozie picked up a loose ball before slipping Angel in behind, and the striker duly converted, finding Smolenaars’ bottom corner.
As the interval approached, PSV fashioned a chance of their own. Saheed Olagunju slipped, allowing Nicolas Verkooijen in behind, but Benjamin made a fine save to keep the score at 2-0 at half time.

The visitors started the brighter of the two sides in the second half, testing Benjamin on several occasions, but the Old Gold repelled the PSV pressure.
It wasn’t until the 63rd minute that PSV threatened the Wolves goal again. Captain Madi Monamay went close with a header that went just wide of the post.
Sutherland was called into action again with twenty minutes to go, but he stood tall again to keep his clean sheet intact.
James Collins’ side had an opportunity to seal the victory, but Gonzalez couldn’t find a finish despite fine footwork in the box.
From there on, Wolves were on the front foot and saw out the three points in Kidderminster.
