Pedro Lima has joined Brazilian side Sao Paulo on loan until the summer of 2027.
The Brazilian has been in and around Cesar Peixoto’s squad since pre-season but has made just one Championship appearance as a substitute, so now heads back to Brazil in search of regular football.
The full-back joined Wolves as an 18-year-old in July 2024 and has made 18 appearances in that time, spending his first season at Molineux and experiencing time on loan at Porto B during the first part of the 2025/26 campaign.
Having returned in January of this year, Lima enjoyed a run in the side at the end of the campaign, but having played just twice so far this term, against Blackburn Rovers as a substitute and Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup, his next challenge lays in Brazil, where he joins the current season halfway through.
Technical director Matt Jackson said: “Pedro hasn’t played a lot of first-team football here, having played a lot in Brazil previously, and he’s still a developing player so needs regular first-team football. Cesar’s assessment was that he was unlikely to get that opportunity with us, so he goes to a massive club in Brazil which will suit him brilliantly.
“He’s a very good professional and trains hard every day, but there’s nothing that beats getting into the rhythm of playing first-team football and learning your craft as a young player.
“He’s still very young but played a lot of first-team football previously, and when you’ve had that, you miss it, and it’s important he has this opportunity now. Sao Paulo, with their pedigree of club, made it an easy decision for him.
“We’ll be monitoring him carefully and he has our full support while he’s away. He’s certainly not going to be a stranger, with all the analysis work we do, and Pedro can still be part of our plans moving forward.”
