Rob Edwards says the clubās transfer business, both in and out, has refreshed his squad well ahead of the remainder of the season.
Adam Armstrong and Angel Gomes arrived on deadline day and have joined Edwardsā training since, bringing energy to a group, who performed well but were beaten by AFC Bournemouth last weekend.
Itās Chelsea up next at Molineux for the Old Gold, who have lost their last two in the Premier League, but remain in a positive frame of mind, and after a strong window, the head coach is now excited to see how his group fare against Champions League opposition.
On the January window
āI am pleased. We said that we'd be in control of the situations, and we have been. It's always a challenging month, and we've said this a lot. It's difficult time to recruit, but we've had the nice refresh that we spoke about, and that has been key. One or two are getting the opportunity to go and play football away from here at the moment, and one or two have left us because it's been the right thing for them and the football club. So, overall Iām really pleased.
āNow, we'll be in a position to act quickly, decisively, and be in really good shape to not only get up and running quickly next season, but also get to work with the group that we want quickly in pre-season. That's always a really key thing to be able to do.ā

On new players bringing versatility
āIf I could have that with every single player that we were able to sign, it would be brilliant, because that allows you to change in game, maybe be a bit more flexible, without having to make substitutions. So, that helps on one side of it. Obviously you have a squad, but if you have people missing through suspension or injuries, then obviously they can fill a number of roles as well. So, I think for a couple of reasons, it's really key to have that.ā

On taking the positives from Bournemouth
āWe conceded two goals. We played really well, created big chances, and I thought we were a better team, but ultimately we lost the game. There wasn't major things wrong with that one, overall it was a pretty good performance, and even in the first half, it was actually better than I thought immediately after the game. It was a really good game, a really good performance, but we conceded a couple of goals, the last one, obviously, when we're pushing right at the end, but overall there were a lot of good things to take from it.ā
On preparing for Chelsea
āThey've got an amazing squad and a really talented group. Whatever team Liam chooses, they'll be fresh and ready and packed full of talent. Itāll be another really difficult game. They've obviously recruited so well over the last few years, and they've had a clear model of the way that they're going with everything ā loads of talented, young, brilliant footballers. It's a really exciting game for us, but it's as challenging and difficult game as I think you can get at the moment. You want to test yourself against the best, and they've got world class players in a lot of areas on the pitch, so it's one, as a club, as a team, as players, we're looking forward to.ā
