Ladislav Krejci says the way Wolves respond to their first defeat of 2026 will show how far the group has come in recent weeks.
The Old Gold were unbeaten in five going into Saturday’s Manchester City clash, but the home side’s quality showed in the first half, and although Wolves improved after the interval, the damage was already done.
While happy with recent progress under Rob Edwards, Krejci says the positives can’t end here, and the players must now show their character and provide a big response when Bournemouth visit Molineux on Saturday.
On improving in recent weeks
“Of course, there will be ups and downs. It cannot be only up, winning or drawing everything, and it’s about how we deal with it. We need to keep the positives of the past results, the good things we did, and in the City game, and continue.
“It’s not easy, but it’s a process. Between now and the end of the season there will be ups and downs, but I believe we are in a good way to start grabbing more points.”
On an improved second half
“The second half was 0-0. We had chances, they also had chances, but the first half decided it, and it can’t be like this. We know, and everybody knows, the quality they have, so it was a hard one.
“We have to continue and look to the next challenge against Bournemouth at home. We try to take as many positives as possible from the last games. We’ll analyse it, what was good and bad, and continue.”

On his different positions
“I think the best things I can give to my team is decision making in the build-up, some calmness, some decision making to give them time and space, and we have much better players in my eyes in the midfield. They can be the ones who make the difference, so this what I feel, and I’m happy for the opportunities that I’m getting. I believe that I will help as much as I can.”
On enjoying the Premier League
“For me, I’m learning. It’s my first season and I try to have open eyes and mind as much as I can and learn as much as I can to put it into other games, and be the best of myself. We have to do finish the league in good spirit and good way.”
