Wolves began October by coming close to claiming their first Premier League win of the season at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Marshall Munetsi deserved the credit for what went down as a Bart Verbruggen own goal after the Zimbabwean smashed a thumping volley at goal which was tipped onto the crossbar by the Brighton keeper before rebounding back off him and into the net.

Vitor Pereira’s side then fell to a 2-0 loss on the road against Sunderland, before coming unstuck against Burnley at home on Sunday afternoon. Having once again come close to a victory through goals from Jorgen Strand Larsen and Munetsi, but ultimately ended in last minute defeat.

The month was rounded out at Molineux on Wednesday evening as the Old Gold hosted Chelsea in the Carabao Cup. Despite a spirited second half fight back, with Tolu Arokodare netting a neat finish and a brace from David Moller Wolfe, it was the Blues which secured their place in the quarter-finals.

Supporters can now vote on the Wolves App for which player they want to win October's award before Saturday's 12pm deadline.
