Vitor Pereira has been crowned the Barclays Manager of the Month following a perfect April for Wolves in the Premier League.
The head coach guided his side to five wins from five across the past month, confirming Premier League safety in style by beating West Ham United, Ipswich Town, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Leicester City.
Jorgen Strand Larsen began the month with the only goal against West Ham and also netted an important winner at Portman Road, after Pablo Sarabia had drawn his side level.
Rayan Ait-Nouri, Strand Larsen and Matheus Cunha were all on target against Spurs, while Sarabia’s stunning free-kick at Old Trafford secured the Premier League double over Man United.
April was concluded with a comprehensive win over Leicester, where Rodrigo Gomes scored his first Molineux goal in a 3-0 win, as Wolves made it 15 points from 15 available.
Pereira said: “It was a very, very good month for us. We were consistent, we were competitive, but this is the work of a lot of people in the shadows. We achieve nothing alone, without the staff, without the supporters, without these people working in the kitchen, in the gym and everywhere. The reward is for everybody.
“Ipswich maybe was the game that was in the right time. The points at that time were not like today. Today, we can play with more confidence, more freedom to create, but it’s about the players, they deserve everything because they are on the pitch.
“We have a fantastic chemistry between everybody, the club, the players, the supporters in the city, and I feel part of this family.”
Pereira received his award at Compton Park this week, have been voted by both the public and panel, becoming the first Wolves manager since Bruno Lage in January 2022 to achieve the honour.
