Dendoncker: It feels good to be part of the team

Leander Dendoncker believes Wolves will have to be at their very best if they want to take three points against Leicester City on Saturday.

The versatile Belgian international, who started Monday night’s defeat to Manchester City in midfield before moving into defence following Willy Boly’s sending off, is expecting another tough test against the Foxes.

Dendoncker has already experienced facing Leicester at Molineux this season, after starting as one of the three centre-backs in the Carabao Cup tie between the two sides in September.

On facing Leicester again

“They will want to win the game just as much as us and they are a good team. We’ve played them in the cup, although they didn’t maybe play with their best team.

“But they played a good game, they try to play football as well and they have good players in every area. We will have to do our very best to get the three points at home.”

On a possible start

“It would be nice. During the last couple of weeks, I’ve played some games, so it feels really good to be part of the team, to be part of everything, so I’m looking forward to keeping on going.”

On defeat at the Etihad

“It wasn’t easy because I played in midfield for the first 19 minutes until Boly got the red card. It was already 1-0 and against an opponent like City, we knew it was going to be difficult to do something, but then I went into defence and had to make a switch stay in the game.

“I had to stay focused on what we had to do, and we had to try and stay organised to try and create some chances.

“Unfortunately, we couldn’t score out of it, but we tried to keep the organisation to avoid conceding any more goals.”
