All the goals came in the second half with both for Wolves from Diogo Jota, making it four in the three games from the in-form midfielder.
Jota broke the deadlock after 47 minutes before Forest substitute Mustapha Carayol responded with a spectacular equaliser only for Jota to glide through for the winner nine minutes from time.
“It was a very good job today,” said Nuno.
“We controlled the game and had good possession against a very good team which play very good football.
“We were able to manage the game and show good character but also fantastic organisation – the shape and co-operation between the boys was excellent.
“We had that organisation and were then able to do what we needed to with our possession – getting goals, always threatening, and at the same time being organised.
“We came here to get the three points and put our ideas on the pitch and that is what we have done.”
Nuno is constant in his desire to talk about the team rather than individuals, but understandably was quizzed at length about the performance of the irrepressible Jota.
“Diogo had a good game and has been like that for us since day one,” he said.
“And he can still get better as well – everyone can get better.
“All the boys are progressing well as players and the team and the squad is growing.
“We must continue to learn and we had moments last week where we took a big punch by making some mistakes.
“We didn’t make the mistakes in those situations today and that shows the character and the growing and the quality of the players.
“Everyone is going to be important, and there were players on the bench today who have been important for us so far.
“Bright (Enobakhare) was on the bench but he started very well for us this season, Ben (Marshall) is coming back into it, Jack (Price) is important to us.
“It is not one moment that is important – it is the contribution of everyone throughout the season.
“We have to continue to work and keep playing the football that we enjoy.
“At the same time we must have the knowledge that we need to be aggressive and press and react when we lose the ball – all of this is also important.”
Wolves moved to joint top in the early Sky Bet Championship table, level on points with leaders Leeds, thanks to a fourth away win in five attempts so far this season.
Not that Nuno will be looking!
“The league table doesn’t mean anything so far – it Is one game at a time.”
There were however great scenes of celebration in front of the 2,000 Wolves fans at full time, with Nuno and his staff and players thanking the travelling support.
“We have to thank the fans, it means a lot how they support the team,” he said.
“We thank them for being here and it was a great moment.
“We now we have to work very hard to make it happen again – tomorrow we are back to work!”
Wolves are next in action on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup against Bristol Rovers, before welcoming Barnsley to Molineux in the Championship next Saturday.
