Michal Zyro has undergone surgery on his severely damaged knee and will return to Compton Park next week to start the lengthy rehabilitation process.
Wolves’ Polish international winger suffered extensive damage to his knee in the fixture at MK Dons 17 days ago, and was waiting for the swelling to ease before he could have an operation.
That took place earlier this week, and Zyro will now return to Compton Park for what is anticipated to be a year out of action as he makes his recovery.
“Michal had his operation on Tuesday morning and it all went according to plan,” said Head of Medical Phil Hayward.
“He had both his cruciate ligament and lateral ligament reconstructed, along with some other structures on the outside which needed to be repaired as well.
“So it was a long operation, but the surgeon was very pleased with the repairs that he carried out.
“Michal is due to come out of hospital this afternoon and be at home over the weekend before coming back to the training ground next week to start his recovery process.
“In terms of timescales we are due to go back to see the consultant again in about six weeks time and same again about three months after the operation.
“Overall we are still looking at Michal being sidelined for a timeframe in the region of a year.”
