Wolves and West Ham United hold similar aims this season and on Tuesday night do battle at the London Stadium in the Championship.

Cesar Peixoto is expected to select from the same group of players for the trip to the capital but must decide if to freshen up his 11 after Saturday. Jordan James came off the bench to score his first goal for the club against Stoke City, so may be nearing a first Championship start. Santiago Bueno was back on the bench, while Joao Virginia was in an Old Gold squad for the first time but is yet to make his debut. Kieran Trippier, Yerson Mosquera and Rafiki Said remain out, as does Jean-Ricner Bellegarde who is “getting closer” according to his head coach, but will be absent for a couple more weeks.
Pablo Felipe returned from injury to feature on the bench for West Ham on Saturday but didn’t get any minutes. That means they only have Tomas Soucek on the treatment table, as he continues to miss out with an ankle ligament injury picked up at the World Cup. Former Wolves captain Max Kilman has been a regular in the Hammers defence this term.

Wolves go into the contest on the back of three successive wins. Saturday’s success over Stoke City was arguably the most impressive, as Peixoto’s side recovered from falling behind early on to put four past their visitors. That brought a much-needed Molineux three points, after two wins on the road. Preston North End were beaten in the Championship and Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup. So far, it’s seven points from nine available, alongside progression in the cup, which represents a positive start to the campaign.
West Ham picked up a point at Watford on Saturday, having fallen behind early on, meaning they’re still without a Championship victory so far. The Hammers had started the season with a draw at Burnley and defeat to Charlton Athletic, which has been their only home game in the league so far. They have enjoyed the Carabao Cup however, beating Southampton 4-1 on the road last week.

Tuesday’s game will land exactly eight years since Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves side enjoyed an early-season win at the London Stadium. After two draws and a defeat following promotion to the Premier League, Wolves got off the mark in the capital thanks to an injury time strike by Adama Traore – his first goal in old gold.
Nuno said: "It feels good, even if we didn't win the boys worked hard. Both teams could have won but in that moment were more in control. We were in control in the first half. Happy for the fans, it is massive to come a long way and get three points.
