It’s back at Molineux and a quick chance to return to winning ways for Wolves on Tuesday night, as they host Bolton Wanderers in the Championship.
Roll call
Cesar Peixoto confirmed that Jordan James and Fer Lopez, who both returned from international duty with niggles, got through their substitute appearances at Middlesbrough on Saturday unscathed. Rodrigo Gomes felt something in his foot at the Riverside and was withdrawn early, so must be assessed by the medical department. Raul Jimenez will miss out, with his return date still unknown, and he’s joined by Boubacar Traore and Bertrand Traore in the treatment room.
For Bolton, Luca Stephenson is back fit having been out injured with a thigh problem since the opening day of the Championship season, while Chris Forino missed out against Stoke City at the weekend due to injury.

The form guide
Saturday’s defeat at Middlesbrough was a setback, but only the Old Gold’s second Championship loss of the season. They’d previously taken seven points from nine available and had won back-to-back matches before heading to the Riverside. Peixoto’s side are yet to lose at Molineux, having won last time out against West Bromwich Albion thanks to Fer Lopez’s goal, and taken four points from Blackburn Rovers and Stoke earlier in the campaign.
Bolton too could savour back-to-back wins over the international break but returned with a defeat. They lost 2-1 at home to Stoke at the weekend, despite the visitors playing with ten men for 70 minutes. Last time away from home however Wanderers beat Norwich City in a seven-goal thriller, with Atsuki Ito scoring the fourth goal in a dramatic 4-3 win in Norfolk, one week after they overcame Cardiff City on home soil.

Beating Bolton at Mol
Back in 2009 Wolves and Bolton found themselves in the Premier League bottom three in early December and met at Molineux. It was the Old Gold who boosted their position thankfully, with Jody Craddock getting the ball rolling within four minutes. Nenad Milijas then scored a cracker for 2-0, before Johan Elamnder bundled home to pull one back. The final ten minutes were nervy, but Mick McCarthy’s side held on for a crucial three points.
McCarthy said: “For an hour and 15 minutes I thought we were terrific. We started great and kicked on. The goal was offside, but it was my turn for a bit of luck. We got involved in a scrap after they scored but I thought we defended them really well. As soon as they get one they were lifted but that game should have been over long before they scored the goal.”
