Wolves Esports have teamed up with Luna Esports for this year’s ePremier League (ePL) taking place this weekend.
The two players representing Wolves, Diogo ‘Diogo’ Mendes and Goncalo ‘RastaArtur’ Pinto, are both part of Luna Esports – the Portuguese esports organisation founded by Diogo Jota in 2020.
The organisation, originally named Diogo Jota Esports and rebranding to Luna Esports in 2023, continues to compete in EA FC (FIFA), a game which was particularly close to Diogo’s heart.
Pinto said: “I’m proud to make my debut in the ePL this season. Wolves is a club I feel a genuine affection for, and I’m excited to represent it with all my commitment.
“Reuniting with Diogo Mendes brings extra motivation, especially because of his character and personality. There’s also a special connection through Luna Esports. It's Diogo Jota's esports team and the club where he first made his name and that means a lot to us.”

This competition sees every Premier League club field two players to represent them in the ePremier League. They will battle it out over the course of two weekends to find which team will be crowned ePremier League champions and walk away with a share of the £100,000 prize pool and a spot in the World Championship and eChampions League.
Mendes said: “It feels great to be back competing in the ePL after two seasons away. The level of competition keeps getting tougher every year, so I’m focused on returning in the best way possible.
“Teaming up with Rasta adds extra motivation, and being part of a club with such a strong Portuguese identity makes this opportunity even more special. There’s also a meaningful connection to Diogo Jota’s esports team, Luna Esports, which makes representing Wolves this year truly significant for all of us involved.”

Armando Vale, General Manager of Luna Esports, said: “Representing Wolves is truly special for us. This partnership goes beyond simply competing in the ePL. It connects us to one of the best leagues in the world and gives us great motivation, knowing this was Diogo Jota’s first club in England and also marks our very first participation in the ePL.
“Wolves was a beautiful chapter in his life and in his family’s story, and we’re proud to do something that we know would make him really happy. I’d like to thank Wolves for being so open and supportive of this idea from the very beginning, and I sincerely hope we can represent the club in the best possible way.”
Claire Teng, General Manager of Wolves Esports, said: “This partnership means a lot to us, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Luna, Armando and the team to help towards continuing Diogo Jota’s legacy in esports.”
The ePremier League group stage takes place Saturday 28th February – Sunday 1st March and you can watch all the action on the EA Sports FC Twitch channel or the Premier League YouTube channel.
