Wolves Express | Rui Pedro Silva exclusive

The latest episode of the Wolves Express podcast brings listeners an exclusive chat with Old Gold assistant head coach Rui Pedro Silva.

In his first interview since returning to Molineux in December to assist Rob Edwards, Silva talks about how the last four months have been while also revealing the reasons for coming back to the Black Country following four years away.

Silva enjoyed unbridled success during his first spell at Wolves, being Nuno Espirito Santo's number two during his fellow Portuguese's tenure as head coach between 2017 and 2021, as he played a big role in the club's promotion out of the Championship, securing back-to-back seventh place finishes and reaching the Europa League quarter-finals.

The coach shares his memories of that golden period in Wolves' recent history, while explaining how the team were able to achieve those incredible moments, how he is determined to help the club reach those dizzy heights once again and why he was surprised by the overwhelming reception he has received from the Wolves supporters since returning.

Silva also discusses his close relationship with Edwards, why having the trust of the head coach was vital in bringing him back to Molineux, how his skillset fits into the coaching team alongside Paul Trollope and Harry Watling and why changing the culture around the training ground has been so important to getting results on the pitch.

Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
