Wolves Express | Stateside support for the Old Gold

In the latest episode of Wolves Express, former flying winger Michael Kightly shares his experiences of representing the club in the USA.

Kightly was wearing the Old Gold as part of the recent Premier League Mornings Live which saw former favourites from all 20 clubs, including the likes of Alan Shearer, Jermaine Defoe and Kevin Phillips, head to Kansas and watch all 10 Premier League matches across the weekend and participate in a range of fan events.

As well as joining with Wolves fans to watch our league game with Leeds United, Kightly also attended a Classic Football Shirts exhibition, experienced Molineux through a VR game and then attended Sporting Kansas City’s MLS clash with Vancouver, and he shares his experiences on the latest episode of Wolves Express.

To give insight into the background of Premier League Mornings Live from a Wolves viewpoint, Todd Newton, Wolves' senior marketing manager, reveals what goes into making events such as this across the pond a success, why building the fan base in America is important to the club and how important it is for the club to interact with its fans all over the world.

You can see a collection of images from Kightly's time representing Wolves in the US here.

Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
