Wolves Express | Getting off the mark at Molineux

Monday's episode of Wolves Express brings you all the reaction to the first win of the Premier League season against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Gary O'Neil gives his opinion on the win, Wolves' first in 11 attempts this season, which saw his side move off the bottom of the Premier League table and above the weekend's opposition.

The head coach admitted his team needed to adjust after their early goal after Southampton set up slightly differently to what he had expected them to, which led to a more dominant second half performance from his side.

Wolves also earned their first clean sheet since February in the 2-0 victory against the Saints, and O'Neil puts all the praise for being solid at the back to his players, while also hoping the three points will be a springboard for the team to kick on for the rest of the campaign.

300 Club members Andy Thompson and Lee Naylor were on commentary duty for Wolves TV on Saturday, and you can hear their thoughts on Monday's episode. Saturday's proved to be a happy 57th birthday for Thommo, who was pleased the team were able to give him the present he wanted.

Match-winner Matheus Cunha also features on the podcast as he shares his relief in Wolves getting off the mark for the Premier League season with their first win following his goal and assist which played a key role in the victory.

Cunha discusses the mood inside the dressing room after full-time, what O'Neil said to the players after the game and how it felt to score a stunning second in front of the South Bank.

Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
