In the latest off-season episode of Wolves Weekly, Mikey Burrows is joined by men's first-team trio Matt Doherty, Dan Bentley and Hugo Bueno.
Just before the 2023/24 season came to a close, Burrows sat down with several players from both the men's and women's first-teams for in-depth chats and the latest of the series features full-backs Doherty and Bueno as well as goalkeeper Bentley.
The stopper is up first and discusses how the team managed to overcome adversity last season to produce a season which ended up above expectations after going into it following a difficult start, as well as the impact he can have on the team off the pitch as well as on it.
Next up is Burrows' chat with Bueno, who talks about how he was happy to score his first goal in gold and black last season, but it came in circumstances which were less than ideal, while also discussing how his role and the club is changing and how the academy graduate is helping young players follow in his footsteps.
Finally, after returning to the club last summer after three years away, Doherty speaks about how he has been trying to protect the legacy he built in Old Gold during his initial decade-long spell, while also trying to chase appearance records, and he reveals more about the chance meeting on a golf course with Matt Hobbs which eventually led to his return.
