Luke Rawlings signs contract extension

Wolves Academy midfielder Luke Rawlings has triggered a one-year contract extension to the first professional contract he signed in April 2025.

The 18-year-old joined the Old Gold at the age of 13 and has developed steadily through the academy system, performing consistently for the under-18s across the last two seasons.

Rawlings has represented England at under-17 level, earning five caps, and made his Wolves under-21 debut in March 2024 at just 15 years old.

Rawlings has to date made 33 appearances across the under-18s and under-21s during the 2025/26 season and has also earned a call-up to Rob Edwards’ first team as part of the match day squad on six separate occasions in the Premier League and FA Cup this term.

The Tokyo-born midfielder has also captained the under-21s for large parts of the Premier League 2 campaign since Alfie Pond’s loan departure to Crewe Alexandra in January and has extended his deal until June 2028.

Academy director Jon Hunter-Barrett said: "Luke is a talented player who has played extensively for our under-21s, so when we had the opportunity to review his contract situation and look at his development and performance, we felt like this was the right thing to do for him and the football club.”
