Wolves link up with Limavady Youths

Wolves’ football development department have agreed their first Northern Irish partnership, after linking up with Limavady Youths.

Wolves will work with Limavady Youths, developing pathways in Northern Ireland, with Old Gold staff delivering coaching camps for all levels – recreational, development and elite.

Each month Wolves will deliver monthly coaching educational video sessions with coaches covering a range of topics, while the partnership will also raise the profile of Wolves in Northern Ireland.

Limavady staff and players will also visit Wolverhampton to experience the coaching and facilities of a Premier League football club.

Joe Hunt, head of football development, said: “As a club we have always enjoyed our time in Northern Ireland, but with this partnership we'll continue to travel across but also welcomes coaches and players to England to enjoy the Wolves experience.

“Jonathan and I have been working hard behind the scenes on how the partnership will work. Limavady have a strong community presence and want to give more to their players and families, hopefully by sharing what we can do at Wolves will help them improve coaches and players.

“On a regular basis we'll be conducting online coach education with Limavady Youths staff - sharing our club philosophy on how we coach players at various ages and abilities.”

Timothy Dixon, Limavady Youths club chairman, said: “It’s an honour to be linked with such a fantastic club and a chance to move our club into a new era and setting high standards in our approach to all things connected with the development of our young players.
