Krejci | 'We need to maintain our mentality'

Ladislav Krejci says this Wolves group need to work hard to maintain their mentality after a late comeback win at Ashton Gate on Wednesday.

The Old Gold scored twice in the final ten minutes thanks to two Sean Neave goals, the second of which was set up by Krejci’s header, and the celebrations from players and fans indicated they knew it was a big win.

Now the Czechia captain wants Wolves, who are unbeaten in five and have won their last three, to continue to show the same application as the second half against Bristol City when they line up again at Wrexham tomorrow.

On a big win at Ashton Gate

“It was a big win in the end and we were very happy with it. The first half wasn't good from all of us. At the back, we weren't perfect and we made some mistakes. Up front we didn't finish situations how we wanted.

“But at half-time, we spoke honestly, face to face, and we stepped up like a different team in the second half.

“That's important during such a long season. Even if the first half of a game doesn't go how we want, we need to keep going and maintain our mentality. I'm happy the game finished like this because I think we deserved it in the end.”

On the manner of the victory

“I don't think it's about one word or one sentence. It's something the staff have been creating here from the beginning, and the players believe in it. It's about the whole mentality and the attributes the staff want from us, and we're trying to show those things on the pitch.”

On Neave popping up crucially

“I'm so happy for Sean because he deserves it. He's a young, hungry guy who works a lot and works hard in every training session. When he gets his minutes, he tries to do his best. I'm so happy for him that he could help us like this, and it's huge for him as well.

“I'm happy I could help from a set-piece situation. From the beginning of the season, our set pieces weren't how we expected, but now they've helped us in the last two games. So a big shout-out to Leaondro [set-piece coach], who spends a lot of time working on them. I believe they'll keep improving and helping us.”
