Hugo Bueno was left frustrated with the fine margins of football as Wolves lost two points at Molineux after seeing Portsmouth fight back to snatch a late equaliser.
After an underwhelming first half, Wolves dominated the second period and took a well-deserved lead through Jordan James, before Portsmouth’s Terry Devlin struck for the visitors with four minutes remaining.
But Bueno knows that by not killing the game when on top, the Old Gold left themselves open to a snatch and grab from Pompey, although with another home match against Watford this weekend he insists the focus needs to move onto getting everything from Saturday’s clash.
On dropping points at home
“It’s a big frustration. I think every game at home has to be a win, and in the last two games we haven’t done that. We just have to keep going and focus on the next game.”

On what changed after taking the lead
“I don’t know. Of course, it was a hard game, but I think we played really well, especially in the second half.
“We created a lot of chances and got them into their own half. We scored the goal, but I think after that we dropped a little bit.
“We were still playing some good football, but these things can happen. They had one shot on target and it went in. We just have to look at it, analyse it and get better.”
On the importance of being clinical
“We know that we’ve been creating quite a lot of chances, but at the end of the day, if you don’t put the ball in the back of the net, it doesn’t count. We have to look at it and get better quickly.”

On taking positives from an improved second half
“I guess it was a really strong second half. The team put in a lot of effort and we were really good on the ball, but it’s difficult to say much more because I’m still really frustrated with the game and the result.
“But we have to move on, we have a massive game on Saturday, and winning that is our objective.”
On the importance of sticking together as a group
“It’s massive. We have so many games, so we cannot just dwell on this result. We have to move on quickly because we have another game, and then another one.
“We have to adapt a little bit to the division and everything that comes with it, and we just have to get the three points when it counts.
“I think it’s good for us as well. We have to take this pressure because when you want to get to the top, you have to play under pressure, and we just have to take it in a positive way and work hard.”
