With two wins from his two Black Country derby outings, Toti insists the Wolves team knew just what they needed to go to get victory over West Bromwich Albion at Molineux on Sunday lunchtime.
The captain was a dominant presence at the back as he put his body on the line during the game to help the Old Gold to three points.
Having known just what the game meant to the supporters having played the last time the sides went head to head at the Hawthorns in 2024, Toti said he was determined to get the win for the Wolves supporters at Molineux.
On captaining Wolves to derby victory
“It’s one of the best feelings, definitely. We knew the importance of this game and we knew we had to come prepared because they were going to come with everything, and we did what we had to do.
“We’ve been training for this for days, we’ve been doing all this during the whole week, and we prepared very well.
“We knew we had to be very strong. Winning the duels was one of the first things that we knew we had to do, follow the game plan and, at the end, be patient, because we knew the goal was going to come.”
On winning for the fans
“It’s really good to win this game, especially for the fans as well as because now it’s the international break.
“It’s really important to finish this period well because we’re going to be a couple of weeks without a game, and the fans deserve a lot.
“This win is for them.”
On memories of Hawthorns win in 2024
“It’s great to win against them again. The last one was at their home, and there’s nothing better now than playing the derby in our home.
“Like I said before, it’s even better to leave here with the win.”

On Lopez’s goal being the difference
“It was really good. This is what we’ve been training for. Pressing high and another goal. We’ve been scoring many goals like this, so it’s not a big surprise for us.
“I’m happy for Fer in getting the goal, so congratulations to him.”
On getting a black eye in the victory
“I’m good now. It was a painful one in the moment, but all good now.
“I’m just happy to go be able to celebrate with the fans and with the lads at the end.”
