Wolves went behind in the 41st minute as Conor Washington scored for the hosts, but Wolves drew level almost instantly as Leo Bonatini finished Diogo Jota’s cross.
Both sides had chances to win the game but it was QPR who took their chance as substitute Matt Smith headed past John Ruddy in the 81st minute to condemn Wolves to their third defeat of the season.
Despite being disappointed with the result, Nuno says that his side won’t be too pessimistic following the defeat.
He said, “I think we should blame ourselves for not getting the points - we lose three points because we were not effective enough to put the ball in the goal.
“In the defensive moments, we must work harder and be more focussed.
“We don’t need to get carried away when we win and we are not too pessimistic when we lose.
“We have analysis to do and then we have to step up and produce a better performance at Norwich.
“Only if we perform well in offensive and defensive situations will we win three points.
“The first goal is a bouncing ball and we need to be more aggressive in these situations but the second one is a moment of our doing.
“We had the chances, we had the moments to put ourselves in front and score and we were not effective in those chances.
“We have to blame ourselves today because we should win this game.”
Nuno felt that his side should have had a penalty mid-way through the second half when Ivan Cavleiro went down under the challenge of Jack Robinson.
On the challenge he said, “Where I’m standing the challenge on Cavaleiro is clear - it appears to me that we was holding him inside the box.
“After that we have to come back from that and the boys did it - the boys build , the boys create but you have to be effective and we should work on this aspect for the next game.”
Wolves now turn their attentions to Tuesday’s trip to Norwich City.
Nuno says Tuesday is the perfect opportunity for his team to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat.
“Today we look ahead to Tuesday, the boys should rest, recover well and we do our work to show them what went wrong.
He continued, “we will improve for the next game because this is how it will be.
“It is impossible to win every game and we cannot stay too much time in sorrow - we have to hit back, step up and show that we want to be really high.”
