Wolves and Midnite celebrate fans with new Molineux subway mural

The new Wolves mural at the entrance to the Molineux subway – a gift to fans by club partner Midnite – has now been restored.

The brand-new mural, which features legends Billy Wright, John Richards, Steve Bull and Raul Jimenez, was unveiled prior to the Black Country derby last month, but was then sadly vandalised in the lead up to the game.

The artist Joe, who also created the tribute to Diogo Jota at the Leaping Wolf, has since returned to complete his piece once again, and supporters will be able to enjoy his work prior to Tuesday’s clash with Bolton Wanderers.

The initiative has been driven by Midnite, who wanted to give something back to the Wolves faithful and mark their commitment to the club and its supporters with a lasting piece along the matchday journey.

It’s a gesture that reflects Midnite's own brand and identity, built around backing fans and being there for the big moments.

As part of the celebrations marking Wolves’ 150-year anniversary, the mural brings together club heritage, legendary figures from the Old Gold's history, and the passion of the fanbase that has carried the club through every era.

Wolves’ head of partnerships, Dave Thomson said: “This project is a great example of what a partnership can achieve.

“Midnite approached us wanting to give something back to our supporters, and in our 150th anniversary season that gesture carries even greater significance.

“To have a partner so keen to pro-actively invest in our fans and the club is something we're truly grateful for.”

Andrew Mook, Midnite’s head of brand marketing, said: “Wolves’ 150th anniversary is a special moment for everyone connected to the club, and we wanted to give something back to the fans that celebrate its incredible history.

“This mural brings together four iconic figures from different generations, creating a lasting tribute that supporters can enjoy and feel proud of.

“As the club’s principal partner, it’s important to us that we contribute to the culture and community surrounding Wolves, and celebrate a club who is truly built different.”

Councillor Stephen Simkins, leader of City of Wolverhampton Council, said: “This is a fantastic mural that celebrates everything people love about Wolves.

“Wolverhampton Wanderers are the heartbeat of our city and a club we’re all incredibly proud of.

“It's an eye-catching addition to the city, for all visitors to Wolverhampton to enjoy.”

The mural has been created by local artist Joe, who also created the tribute to Diogo Jota at the Leaping Wolf. Follow Joe and see more of his work at Artworkby_Joe on Instagram or Artwork by Joe on Facebook.
